Mix and Match Version 1.3.0 – What’s New

WooCommerce Mix and Match version 1.3.0 introduces layout options, including a grid layout! This feature has been one of our most requested features and we’re excited to finally bring it to you.

Requirements

WooCommerce 3.0 or higher is now required. If your site is running an older version, it’s time to consider updating.

Introducing the New Grid Layout

The templates have undergone a major update, which brings a new level of flexibility to the layouts. While we’ve tried to make this update as back-compatible as possible, any customizations you have made may need to be updated. The most common customization was to create your own grid layout, so you may find you no longer need your template overrides as grid layouts are now supported in core.
Note: if you were customizing or overriding the Mix and Match templates you will want to test the update in a staging environment and update your templates. You can use a plugin such as WP Staging to set up a staging site.

Layout Options

There is a new Layout option under the Mix and Match Products tab that allows you to change the single-product layout of your product by selecting:

  • the default Tabular layout you are familiar with; or
  • a Grid layout, ideal for displaying lots of product options.
The layout is set to Tabular by default so as not to force any layout changes on users. WooCommerce Product metabox showing the Mix and Match settings, Form Location setting highlighted

Form Location Options

There is a new Form Location option under the Mix and Match Products tab that allows you to change the location of the add to cart form for your product by selecting:
  • the Default location that is typically in the Product Summary; or
  • an After summary option, that moves the add to cart form below the Product Summary.
Note: This feature may not work with themes that have already moved or customized the add to cart form location.
