Create a new administrator account in WordPress

To provide the quickest support in certain, trickier cases, our Happiness Engineers may request an Administrator account on your site to take a closer look at the issue. If that scenario arises, we’ll request that you create a temporary admin login for us, which should be deleted once we are finished.

Please note that to comply with GDPR rules, you need to disclose the sharing of access rights to third parties like us in your Terms & Conditions. Here’s more information about your responsibilities as a store owner under GDPR.

Create user account

  1. In your WordPress Admin Dashboard, go to Users > Add New.
  2. Enter a Username* (use woologin for the purpose of granting access to WooCommerce Happiness Engineers)
  3. Enter an email address (use woologin@woocommerce.com – this email address can be accessed through our system so we can reset the password if necessary)
  4. Make note of the password generated by WordPress, and send it to us using QuickForget.com.
  5. Ensure that the Role is set to Administrator.
  6. If your site is not in English, please define English as this user’s language
  7. Select Add New User.

Add a new note to the ticket in the WooCommerce.com dashboard, or simply reply to the email you receive in your inbox.

Send us:

  • URL of your website
  • Username of the account
  • Password (use a safe sharing service like QuickForget.com)
  • If you’ve used woologin@woocommerce.com we’ll be able to reset the password if necessary

Delete user account

Once the issue is resolved and you no longer need the account, go to Users > All Users, then click the username of the account and Delete.

For security reasons, we recommend doing this as soon as the interaction with our support team is finished.
