Instant deposits with WooPayments

WooPayments provides a way for eligible accounts to request an instant deposit of some or all of the account balance. After requesting an instant deposit, the money will arrive within minutes instead of days. Instant deposits can also be initiated any time.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible to request an instant deposit, your account must meet the following criteria:

• Based in the U.S.
• More than 90 days old.
• Processed more than $1,000 during the last 90 days.
• Under 1% of transactions disputed in the last 90 days.
• Use either of the following options as the primary means of receiving deposits from your account:
  1. A verified bank account
  2. A debit card

If you would like instant deposits to be available for supported countries outside of the U.S., please submit a (or vote for an existing) feature request here.

The feature request portal is where the development team goes to look for future features and improvements.

To request an instant deposit:

1. Go to Payments > Overview in your admin dashboard.
2. Click the Deposit available funds button in the top section.

3. View details about your instant deposit, such as:
   • The amount you have available for instant deposit.
   • What the net deposit amount will be after instant deposit fees are deducted.

4. Click Deposit now to initiate the instant deposit.

If the Deposit available funds button is visible in Payments > Overview, but appears disabled, then the balance may not be within the deposit limits explained below.

Unlike scheduled deposits, there is both a minimum and maximum deposit amount that can be processed through an instant deposit.

• The minimum instant deposit amount is $50 USD.
• The maximum instant deposit amount can be up to $1,000 USD.

If the minimum instant deposit amount has not been reached, or if the maximum limit has been exceeded, the Deposit available funds button will be disabled.

Instant deposits can be made to a verified bank account or a debit card. This section focuses on how to add these deposit methods to your WooPayments account.

As of March 14, 2024, eligible merchants can accept instant deposits if they onboarded with a verified bank account. Bank account verification uses a combination of automated and manual processes to confirm that the bank account used is tied to the individual or entity that owns the WooPayments account.

If verification of your bank account cannot be completed for any reason, you may be asked to provide one of the following documents to help verify your bank account:

• A bank account statement
• A bank letterhead
• A voided check

Once this information is provided, it will be manually reviewed by our partners at Stripe to ensure that the bank details match those on the WooPayments account. This manual process may take several days.
